Our plan had always been to wait until retirement and build, or buy, a business together. We were waiting because our corporate jobs were what we had been working toward for 30 years and were where the “real” money was.
Kamie had decided at the end of 2019 that despite great financial business results, she missed working in a smaller company and decided to exit her role in June. With the impact of COVID, we both had a lot of time to pause, connect and reflect.
The more we researched the more we realized that our plan to wait was not necessary, nor the best financial move. With this realization it also meant that we were free to move to a location where we wanted to live now and into retirement. By June we had decided.
